The FAA Approved SimBird 1000C Basic Aviation Training Device (BATD) offers the look and feel of an actual Cessna Instrument Panel.  A cost-effective BATD training solution – whether you are a flight school interested in expanding your training capabilities or a pilot looking to improve your skills.

Our design is based on the dimensions and layout of a Cessna production single engine aircraft – closely representing overall functionality, instrumentation, avionics, and performance. Our complete workstation consists of a main instrument panel, engine control section, Instructor Operating Station (IOS) and a visual display system consisting of three hi-resolution 50” monitors. A solid metal floor plate supports a hard mounted adjustable seat and rudder pedals. Also included is an audio system that allows student and instructor to communicate through headphones (not Included). All computer hardware components are permanently installed and integrated so that the unit has the appearance and feel of an actual Cessna aircraft.

The Simbird 1000C BATD utilizes the incredible XPLANE Certified Professional program. X-Plane is the world’s most comprehensive and powerful flight simulator for personal computers, and it offers the most realistic flight model available. XPLANE PRO version enables FAA certification checks that are required for flight training. It gives a “Commercial Use” message as X‑Plane starts up, causing X‑Plane to check for flight controls and self-test the frame rate, as required for FAA certification.

Our complete solution includes an Instructor Operator Station (IOS) – allowing the instructor/pilot to monitor and vary aircraft location as well as changing weight & balance, and weather. Using the IOS – you can also introduce a wide variety of aircraft system and equipment failures.

Our workstation design features a G1000 Avionics Suite that includes a Primary Flight Display (PFD), a Multi-function Display (MFD) and GMA audio panel.  The PFD and MFD each contain a dedicated IPS 10.4″ wide view angle high quality display, ultra-realistic backlit buttons and high-quality tactile control knobs. Three functional standby gauges (altimeter, airspeed, artificial horizon) provide back-up instrumentation as configured on actual Cessna instrument panels.

SimBird will fit in any standard school, office or home environment has relatively low power consumption and no special cooling requirements. A single 110 – 240 VAC power source, powers the workstation.
